Della has been a member of the Wetherby design team for over 18 years, making her one of the longest serving and most respected members of the team.
After graduating with a degree in Art & Design in 1986, Della started out by taking her artistic talents to the well-regarded Crucible Theatre, Sheffield, where she worked creating costumes. Her love of fabric developed into a passion for creating beautiful spaces and from the theatre Della pursued a career in interior design.
Della honed her skills working as a designer for Midday Interiors in Hull before joining the design team at what was then James Brindley here in Wetherby.
“Even after 18 years, every day is different here. I like meeting people and enjoy getting to know them, not just to help with the design process, but because different characters and lifestyles interest me. I’ve made many long-standing friendships over the years, and it’s flattering that clients return to work with me time and time again.”
Della is an experienced designer whose beautiful, realistically planned interiors make her a top choice not only with those undertaking their first project, but also with design conscious families and older clients.
With the belief that your home should welcome, comfort and delight, Della excels at adapting a newly designed interior to look as if it has evolved with the owner. She has an affinity for retro and vintage pieces from all eras, and enjoys re-using or enhancing existing furniture to compliment a room design.
“I like to take a family treasure or well-loved accessory and use it as inspiration to design a practical scheme that compliments their lifestyle,” she added.
Della has lived locally for many years and is an active member the community. Weekends are often spent entertaining friends and family, which is how she believes a well designed home should be used.
“Della is a charming designer with a sensitive approach and easy-going manner. She loves working with families and understands that a home must be practical as well as fabulous.”
